New hotels to open in Ukraine

First Hilton in Ukraine: Hilton Kiev

The International Business Centre and Hotel Business Development Company (a wholly owned subsidiary of International Business Centre) have signed agreements with Hilton International Co. to operate a 5 star luxury hotel in the capital of Ukraine, Kiev.

The agreements were signed by Alexandr Lashko, Director General of the International Business Centre and Hotel Business Development Company, and Didier Martin, Vice President (Central Eastern Europe & Turkey), Hilton International Co., in a press conference held in Kiev.

The $US 70 million project is due to be completed in mid 2009 and Hilton International Co. will operate the Hilton Kiev on behalf of its owners for a period of 20 years.

The Hilton Kiev hotel will be located on 28-30 Taras Shevchenko Boulevard, a prime location in Kiev - only a few blocks from the Opera House and the Golden Gate, with direct views of the Botanical Gardens. The hotel is also in close proximity to government offices, ministries and embassies, making it a popular destination for business guests.

The Hilton Kiev will become the landmark hotel of the city with its dramatic architectural forms, designed by John Seifert Architects of London and Andriy Pashenko of Kiev. The luxury hotel complex will include superior hotel rooms and suites, and a range of entertainment, health, business and meeting facilities.

New InterContinental Kiev to Open in Ukrainian Capital in 2008

IHG will manage the InterContinental Kiev on behalf of the local owner, Yaroslaviv Val, one of the country's leading real estate developers. The brand new luxury hotel will open in the first quarter of 2008 and comprise 280 guestrooms over 12 floors. Occupying a prime location in one of the city's main squares, InterContinental Kiev will feature two bars and restaurants, one of which will be positioned on the rooftop, allowing diners stunning views of the city. All major attractions are within walking distance of the hotel, including the famous St Michael Golden Domes.

InterContinental Kiev will cater for international and domestic business travellers, offering a choice of meeting rooms and a ballroom. In keeping with the high standards and excellent facilities at InterContinental hotels, the property will also feature a fitness area, swimming pool, workout room and three treatment rooms.

Redizor to open the exclusive Radisson Resort in Ukraine

The Rezidor Hotel Group has contracted six new properties within just one week: a Radisson resort in Yalta (Ukraine), a Radisson hotel in Paris (France), two Radisson hotels in Portimao (Portugal), a Radisson hotel in Brno (Czech Republic) and a Park Inn hotel in St. Helens (United Kingdom), which adds 1,048 rooms to the group's portfolio.

From 2007 to 2009 Rezidor is due to open 20,000 new rooms in total. "All these agreements show how important our European home markets are for our further development", says Kurt Ritter, President and CEO of Rezidor. "I'm particularly proud of the new hotels in Portugal which are important steps for our growth in Southern Europe."

The exclusive Radisson Resort, Bolshaya Yalta (Ukraine) will feature 450 rooms - the first 250 rooms will be completed in April 2009 and 200 more will follow in April 2010. Extensive facilities will comprise 11 retail outlets and activity areas, indoor and outdoor pools, a private beach and a spa. Yalta is the administrative centre of the Crimean Southern Coast - a 70 km resort area, which has attracted major investments over the past few years. The region is well known for its leisure activities by the sea, and the wines of Massandra.
