CzechTourism opens an office in Kiev and participates at UITT for the first time

In October 2007 a CzechTourism office opened in Kiev. Its aim is to promote the Czech Republic as a tourist destination in Ukraine. This is the 26th CzechTourism office to open around the world.

Ukrainian tourists are continuing to travel abroad, despite the unstable political situation in the country and every year the total number of trips grows by about 3%. ‘An ever-increasing number of tourists from Ukraine arrive in the Czech Republic every year and we would like to stimulate more interest with targeted promotional activities through our office, which was officially opened on 11 October 2007 during one of the largest travel trade fairs in Ukraine, the UTM Kiev,’ stated the Head of  CzechTourism, Mr Rostislav Vondruška.

In Ukraine, the Czech Republic is perceived as a friendly country possessing many tourist sights and places of natural beauty, as well as being famous for its spas. Overall, Russians spend the longest average time at Czech spas (13.2 days), but they are closely followed by guests from Ukraine, who spend an average of 12.1 days there. Favourite places for Ukrainians in the Czech Republic are the Carlsbad Region, Prague, Central Bohemia and the area around Pilsen.

CzechTourism will make its first appearance at UITT this year and has reserved a large stand, comprising 91 m².
