German National Tourist Board is among MITT 2008 exhibitors

Germany will feature as a travel destination for the 14th time at the MITT trade fair in Moscow, which takes place from 19-22 March 2008. The German stand will focus on ‘Palaces, Parks and Gardens’, the German National Tourist Board (GNTB)'s annual theme for 2008 and ‘Germany - In the Heart of Europe – Towns, Cities and Regions’, its theme for 2009.

MITT is becoming increasingly important for the GNTB as a platform for targeting the travel trade in Russia and surrounding countries – not least because booking figures from the Russian market are rising. Following a successful year in 2006 with an 11.9% rise in overnight stays, the growth trajectory is even steeper in 2007, with a 17.2% rise in the first five months of the year. So it is not surprising that German tourism service providers are showing a keen interest in MITT, and that the 2008 German national stand will be the biggest ever, encompassing an area of more than 230 square metres. Over 40 companies, including regional marketing organisations, towns and cities, airports, tour operators and hotels, will be showcasing their huge range of services and visitor attractions for holidaymakers and business travellers coming to Germany.
