MITT - Moscow International Travel & Tourism Exhibition has developed enormously since its launch in 1994. It has been successfully uniting the travel and tourism industry and helping companies realise their potential in this dynamic market for over 10 years. The successful collaboration between the organisers and participants and the support of local authorities and international organisations has moulded MITT into the most productive and effective travel trade event in Russia.
MITT has gained international recognition with official support from the Ministry of Sports and Tourism, the Government of Moscow and Associations around the world including ETTFA (European Tourism Trade Fairs Association), the WTO (World Tourism Organisation), CECTA (Central European Countries Travel Association), PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) and ICCA (International Congress and Convention Association). More recently in 2000 MITT was also given UFI (Union des Foires Internationales) accreditation adding weight to MITT as a high profile event.
"MITT is much more than the premier Russian travel industry
exhibition. It has become a major international event for the global
tourism community, and is part and parcel of the Russian Government's
tourism marketing strategy"
Mr Peter Shackleford, Regional Representative for Europe, World Tourism
Organisation.
With over 2,250 companies representing some 103 countries and regions at MITT2002, there is no doubt that MITT is the leading travel & tourism event in Russia. It offers the best service to both exhibitors and trade visitors, of which over 70,000 registered at MITT2002. MITT is not just an exhibition, but a travel experience incorporating social events. Seminars and conferences and presentations by exhibitors form part of a week's events surrounding MITT. This year will see the launch of the 'How To Bring Business' Travel Conference organised in collaboration with cecta (Central European Travel Trade Association), and the prestigious Russian Travel Awards will once again be presented during MITT in conjunction with TTG Russia.
