Holiday World - Highlight
of the Central European
Travel Trade Week
The Central European travel industry will enjoy a week of trade events
surrounding Holiday World 2002 at the Prague Exhibition Grounds-Vystaviste
(7th - 10th February). Now in its 11th edition, the strength of this leading
travel and tourism exhibition in Central Europe attracts top trade from
this dynamic region. The "Central European Travel Trade Week" will begin
with the launch of the Central European Chapter of Meeting Planners International
(MPI) on the 5th of February at the Don Giovanni Hotel. The MPI launch
sits well with the 2nd annual Central European Travel Conference organized
with the Central European Countries Travel Association (cecta) at the
Inter-Continental Hotel on the 6th February which will focus on MICE.
Industry excellence will be recognized during the Czech Travel Awards
on the 8th February.
Holiday World 2002 is a specialist travel trade exhibition focusing on
the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Slovenia and Poland-an entire region
positioned as a safe tourist destination despite recent international
events. Although in the aftermath of September 11th, there has been a
trend toward short-haul travel within Europe, there is strong participation
from both these and long-haul destinations. Over 800 companies from over
70 countries will be represented at the exhibition including newcomers
like Ireland, the Maldives, Morocco and Serbia.
Holiday World 2002 will be preceded by the Central European Travel Conference
which will be jointly organised by ITE Travel Exhibitions and cecta (Central
European Countries Travel Association). The conference will focus on the
Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Events (MICE) industry and how,
specifically, to bring business to this region. Confirmed speakers include
Mike Moore Jr. of AOL/Time Warner Europe, SITE, MPI, KPMG and many other
thought leaders in the industry.
Holiday World enjoys the full support of industry bodies such as ETTFA
(European Travel Trade Fair Association) and cecta, as well as the support
from the Czech government. The Holiday World team is committed to constant
development of the show and is looking forward to a successful 2002 edition.
