Central European Travel Conference Announcement
The organisers of the Holiday World travel exhibition in Prague announced today that they will join together with cecta, the Central European Countries Travel Association to organise an international conference on travel to, from and within in Central Europe. The conference will be positioned to take place one day prior to Holiday World on Wednesday, February 7th, 2001 at the Inter-Continental Prague.
According to cecta chairman, Terry Coates, "Any travel industry professional responsible for the Central European region, will find this conference invaluable." Coates is convinced "This is a region about which many industry professionals are still learning-statistics are often sparse and the dynamic nature of the region means constant change and opportunity."
Current cecta member countries include: Austria, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hungary and Poland, but may expand in the future.
Confirmed speakers from the industry include Professor Allan Beaver, Vice President CIMTIG (Chartered Institute of Marketing Travel Industry Group), Professor Dr. Armin Godau, Managing Director ITE (Institut zur Forderungund Integration des Tourismus in Europa), Geoffrey Gray-Forton, Chairman MWA (Meetings World (1969) Associates), Bill Muirhead, Partner, M&C; and Saatchi Janez Pergar, Vice President, WATA (World Association of Travel Agencies), Vladimir Stetina, Director, IH&RA; (International Hotel & Restaurant Association) and Daniella Wagner, Vice President, Corporate Affairs, WTTC (World Travel and Tourism Council).
cecta Chief Executive, Gill Wilson indicated that the timing is right for this event. "Since the founding of cecta, we have noticed an ever-increasing interest in the concept of borderless travel within the Central European region." The conference will be a forum to explore this and the impact of e-commerce and e-trading, marketing as well as many other aspects of travel and tourism from and within the region.
