Holiday World 2000 Exceeds Expectations
The 9th edition of Holiday World, Central Europe's Premier Tourism Industry Event, again succeeded in providing the travel trade with crucial exposure to the Central European market (February 10-13, 2000). Final statistics confirm that 10,085 square meters net exhibition space were occupied with exhibitors from 68 countries.
The event was opened on February 10, 2000 in the Prague Exhibition Grounds Lapidarium by Jan Kasl, Mayor of Prague; Birger Bachman, General Secretary of UFTAA; Sir Hugh Bidwell, ITE Deputy Chairman; Jiri Pavlik, Director of Agentura Triumf; and Karel Klima, Director of the Prague Exhibition Grounds.
A newly-developed seminar program at the Holiday World 2000 was well-received by journalists and trade alike. Presentations included a joint seminar by IATA and UFFTA which was the world launch of their new travel agents' training program, a European Commission press conference exposing child sex tourism and an introduction of cecta (Central European Countries Travel Association) to the Central European market. Also among these high profile presentations were press conferences hosted by various public and private sector entities related to the tourism industry including the German Tourist Office, Bulgaria, keysystem.com, Czech Railways Travel Agency, Choice Hotels, Amadeus Marketing and others.
Holiday World is a member of the ITE Travel Group, organisers of MITT Moscow. Also part of the ITE Travel portfolio are India Travel Market, Bombay; EMITT, Istanbul; UITT, Kiev; Gulf, Saudi Arabia. Holiday World became members of the ITE Travel Group in November 1998. This edition of Holiday World was the first jointly-organised with Agentura Triumf, Prague and ITE Travel Exhibitions, London.

The event was officially opened by V�clav Kupka - Deputy Minister of Regional Development as well as Jiri Pavlik - Director Agentura Triumf, David Hammond - Director ITE Travel Exhibitions, and Karel Klima - Director Prague Exhibition Grounds.
Holiday World is a member of the prestigious European Tourism Trade Fairs Association (ETTFA) and the Business Council of the World Tourism Organisation (WTO).
