MITT: Exhibitor Testimonials

The 14th edition of MITT, held on 21 - 24 March 2007, was a great success – attracting over 2,700 exhibitors, including 69 official National Groups.

Here are some of the exhibitor testimonials obtained at MITT 2007. We hope to bring you more in the future.

“MITT is the only travel show in Russia with a solid international reputation, providing a unique opportunity for travel industry professionals to gain a thorough understanding of the Russian travel market and build relationships within the trade.

Despite challenges from new travel shows emerging in Moscow each year, MITT still remains the most important travel event in the region.

VisitBritain will continue its mission to develop a strong representation of the UK at MITT, and we invite all members of the UK travel trade interested in entering/developing their business in the Russian market.”

Russia is a new market for us. We have a website in Russian; joint promotions with the trade; we invite tour operators and invite professionals from Russia to Flanders to give them a few days to visit the country; we invite press people and we participate here at MITT which is important as a first step. The internet is very important but also we want to have face- to-face contact like here. This is still a very good way to convince people and to give them more information… This exhibition is very important for us.”

Geert Bourgeois – Flemish Minister for Administrative Affairs, Foreign Policy and Tourism.

“For Britain, Russia is a market that is relatively small at the moment but with high potential as the Russian economy starts to take off.”

“This is a very high yield market.

We see MITT as one of the central events for our activities in Russia during the year. We have been participating in it for four years in a row. It is a big exhibition that attracts lots of visitors, which is great.

One of the important things about the Russian market is that you have to be constantly coming here and keeping the momentum. You can’t let it go and expect that it will deliver on its own, so people who understand this come here and get good business.”
