ITE Group plc is pleased to announce that it has signed an agreement with the Indian company, Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) to organise Asia’s premier biennial energy event, Petrotech, in 2010. Petrotech is held under the aegis of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas of the Government of India, and it will be held from 31st October to 3rd November in New Delhi.
ITE will manage the international sales and promotion of the event and has signed a separate agreement with the Indian organiser, iTEN Media, who will manage domestic sales, marketing, on-site operational and technical issues.
ITE’s Head of Oil & Gas events, Graeme Coombes, said, “Petrotech is the prime showcase of India’s hydrocarbon sector so it fits very well with our existing portfolio of international oil and gas events in emerging markets. It means that we have another proven business forum to offer our clients and I am confident that we can be a significant contributor to the continued success of Petrotech.”
The Petrotech conference and exhibition is a prestigious forum for the global energy industry. The 8th edition of the event, held in 2009, attracted over 4,000 delegates, speakers and guests and over 270 exhibitors promoted their products and services to more than 13,000 business visitors. The theme of the next edition is “Global Energy Equilibrium” which will focus on India’s reach into the global energy community as it seeks to secure its future energy independence. Petrotech 2010 will also include the 3rd WPC Youth Forum as a parallel event.
India is the world’s fifth largest energy consumer and possesses significant oil and gas reserves. Demand for new technologies to increase hydrocarbon exploration and maximise efficiencies in oil and gas production and transit underpin the business opportunities in this dynamic market.
