30 sponsors already on board for the RPGC Congress (MIOGE) The Russian Petroleum and Gas Congress (RPGC) will be held alongside MIOGE for the fifth time. 750 senior decision-makers will be attending this strategic business conference which has already attracted over 30 sponsors including Gazprom, Hydro, Integra, Lukoil, Petronas, Statoil, StroyTransGas, Tatneft and TNK-BP, all of whom will be making presentations during the 3-day congress. KIOGE - the largest oil and gas event in the Caspian region This year, KIOGE will take place on 2-5 October in Almaty. Over the last 15 years, KIOGE has become an unmissable forum for the oil and gas industry in Kazakhstan and the entire Caspian region. For hundreds of international companies, KIOGE is their first step into the Kazakhstan market. KIOGE 2007 will feature 550 companies from 45 countries, attracting an estimated 18,000 trade visitors. Already, 300 companies have confirmed their participation including: Agip KCO, Kazmunaygaz, Tengizchevroil, Chevron Inc, Total, Shell, Baker Hughes, Karachaganak Petroleum Operating B.V., CNPC, Petrom, British Gas, FMC, SHELL, Invensys, among others. Another successful TUROGE featuring many new participants TUROGE took place on 27-29 March 2007 in the Sheraton Hotel and Convention Centre in Ankara, Turkey and focussed on the oil and gas industry in the Caspian and Black Sea regions. The exhibition has grown steadily over the last six years and this year it welcomed a number of major new companies. Petrobras, ENI and Weatherford took part in the exhibition for the first time, joining many other well-known names in the industry who regularly exhibit at TUROGE, including TPAO, BOTAS, Schlumberger, MAN, Fugro, OMAS and Sumy Frunze. The TUROGE Conference offered in-depth analysis of the Turkish and regional oil and gas industry, including new and ongoing projects and investment opportunities. The Conference was sponsored by BP, Chevron, Fenwick Elliott, Indian Oil Corporation, Petrobras, Shell and Taq Taq Operating Company. Twelve government delegations attended from Austria, Azerbaijan, Afghanistan, Brazil, Bulgaria, Iran, Iraq, Kazakhstan, Macedonia, Romania, Russia, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Ukraine and UK. The Conference featured 60 high-level presentations including those from the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Turkish Association of Petroleum Geologists, the Turkish Association of Geophysical Engineers, TPAO, BOTAS, TPJD, JFMO, OPEC, key executives on the Samsun-Ceyhan and Nabucco projects, the Ministry of Petroleum of Iran and the Ministry of Mines of Afghanistan. A successful launch for Oiltech 2007 OilTech 2007, the inaugural Kazakhstan petroleum technology conference took place on 12 April alongside the 6th Atyrau Oil & Gas Exhibition. In excess of 200 delegates attended the conference which was held in the newly built Renaissance Hotel. The conference focused on the technical challenges and solutions for developing Kazakhstan’s oil and gas reserves, and speakers included representatives from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, the Atyrau Regional Administration, the Aktau Regional Administration, the Union of Independent Oil Producers of Kazakhstan, the Caspian Institute of Exploration Geophysics, UK Trade and Investment, Halliburton, Tenaris, FMC Technologies, McDermott Caspian Contractors, Denholm Zholdas, SGS, Macleod Dixon and the Atyrau Oil and Gas Institute and many more. Larger venue attracts 40% new exhibitors to Atyrau Oil & Gas On 11-13 April, Atyrau in Western Kazakhstan hosted the 3-day Atyrau Oil & Gas 2007 exhibition. A temporary pavilion was built near the Renaissance Atyrau Hotel for the exhibition - an important event for the region. More than 120 companies from 14 countries exhibited at Atyrau Oil & Gas 2007: China, Denmark, France, Germany, Iran, Italy, Kazakhstan, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Russia, Turkey, UAE, and UK, including 52 new exhibitors. The total exhibition area increased to 3,000 sqm and its importance for the industry was confirmed through official support from the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources of Kazakhstan, the Atyrau City Akimat, the British Embassy in Kazakhstan, the European Business Association (EuroBAK), the Office of the US Chamber of Commerce in Kazakhstan (AmCham), and leading specialised and socio-political media in Kazakhstan, CIS and abroad. 2nd OGE Forum to take place in Madrid The 2nd global forum for event organisers and suppliers to the oil, gas and energy sector, OGE 2007, will be held at the IFEMA Exhibition Centre, in the beautiful city of Madrid on 8-9 July 2007. The event is sponsored by IFEMA and the Madrid Convention Bureau. The OGE Forum is the ONLY event which unites global oil, gas and energy event organisers. The aim of the forum is to provide participants with an all-round understanding of the current oil and gas exhibition industry, enabling them to share information and exchange experiences, view the latest industry technology and understand the expectations of the major oil and gas companies when they take part in an exhibition or conference. This will, in turn, enable the exhibition organisers to improve their events and grow their business, whilst improving the quality and focus of the events for oil and gas companies.
