In 1998 ITE licensed US-based organiser South East Asia Conference & Exhibition Co (SEACE) to develop exhibitions and conferences in the rapdily changing Indonesian marketplace. PT. Rantai Expo Internasional (PTREI) is SEACE's operating arm in Jakarta, and currently employs more than 40 people, including a unique in-house internet and graphic design facility. As the first and only professional organiser to enter the newly democratic Indonesia in the depths of its economic crisis and political change, PTREI / SEACE is ideally placed to capitalise on the rapid growth predicted for the region. The success of PTREI / SEACE's launch event, IIOGE '99 (Indonesia International Oil & Gas Conference and Exhibition), which attracted high-level speakers including the Secretary General of OPEC and the Minister of Oil from Kuwait, has resulted in PTREI / SEACE's appointment as the official Far Eastern sales agent for the ITE Oil & Gas series of flagship events.
