Machinetool Exhibitions Go East! (Update 2)

PRESS RELEASE - 28 FEBRUARY 2000

Egypt's only specialised machine tool event to take place at an opportune time

MACTOOLS-5, Egypt's 5th Pan Arab/ African international exhibition for machine and hand tools will be held from the 2 - 5 November at the Cairo Fair Ground. MACTOOLS-5 will take place at a time when Egypt is actively involved in upgrading its industrial base, thereby increasing the demand for machine tools and metal working equipment. The Egyptian governments privatisation program will create additional demand to renovate production lines, many of which heavily depend on machine tools and metal working equipment. Furthermore, MACTOOLS-5 has been scheduled to take place during the Egyptian purchasing cycle and will match the purchasing requirements of local visitors.

Exhibitors at MACTOOLS-5 will be of international origin in line with last year's event; exhibitors at MACTOOLS-4 were from 27 countries including the US, UK, Germany, Taiwan and China, among others. MACTOOLS-5 is an event that is well known within the Middle East region; it will attract exhibitors and trade visitors from the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Libya, Syria, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Iraq, Yemen, Bahrain and Oman. Trade visitors at the exhibition will be from within the Manufacturing, Automotive, Construction, Military Hardware, White Goods, Shipping, and other metalworking industries.

MACTOOLS-5 will enjoy the presence of country groups from the UK, Germany, Italy, China and Taiwan. At last year's event, the official UK group supported by the CECIMO member association MTTA, exhibited the products and services of 50 UK companies; an official group from China, with 15 direct exhibitors, was also present at MACTOOLS-4.

MACTOOLS-5 is strategically placed in Cairo, the heart of the Middle East, as it is the production centre capable of responding to opportunities in neighbouring states, particularly Saudi Arabia and the Gulf. MACTOOLS-5 is organised by ITE and it's local partner ACG & ITF, a partnership that will bring to the event a combination of international experience and local expertise.
