ITE Group plc has been appointed by the Algerian National Oil Company, Sonatrach, to organise the third Algeria Energy Week in Oran, Algeria.

The appointment follows the recent success of the ITE/UNCTAD organised African Oil and Gas, Trade & Finance exhibition and conference held in April this year in Algiers.

Oil and Gas Sales and Development Director, Frederic Malgoire commented. “Algeria is a very important country in the community of African oil and gas producers. The country has a large hydrocarbon wealth and is currently going through a reform of its energy policy. By hosting the event in Oran we are delivering the event to the heart of the industry as we are only a few miles from the Arzew refinery and LNG plant. We have already established a good working relationship with Sonatrach and the Ministry of Energy when delivering the high quality event in Algeria in April and we are partnering them again to produce the Algeria Energy Week in November.”

ITE’s Chief Executive, Ian Tomkins said, “ITE has a very strong portfolio of oil and gas exhibitions and conferences and this event is an important addition given that Algeria is the world’s 3rd biggest exporter of natural gas. The Algeria Energy Week includes three events; a series of scientific and technical days organised by Sonatrach (7ème Journées Scientifiques et Techniques – JST 7), a conference focusing on investment in the hydrocarbons sector (5ème Conférence Stratégique sur l’Investissement – CSI 5) and a trade exhibition for global suppliers to showcase their products and services to the North African oil and gas industry (3rd Algerian International Oil and Gas Exhibition - ALOGE 3).

The Algeria Energy Week will also be known as S. E. A. 3 (3ème Semaine de l’Energie en Algérie).
