PRESS RELEASE DECEMBER 2001 World Food Moscow Moves Forward World Food Moscow 2002, Russia's Premier International Food & Drink Exhibition will take place on 24th - 27th September 2002 at Expocentre, Moscow's biggest exhibition centre. Organised by ITE Group Plc, the world's leading exhibition organiser in emerging markets, the exhibition which is now in its 11th year and boasts 12,000 sqm (net.) of exhibition space, is adapting to the demands of the market by developing the content of the show to include dedicated product areas and seminars. World Food Moscow will incorporate World Drinks Russia (previously Drinks Russia) and World Sweets Moscow (previously Sweets Expo Moscow) as well as dedicated product areas, designed to provide exhibitors with a unique platform to present their products to a targeted audience. The complete list of product areas covered by the shows is as follows: Meat & Seafood, Fruits & Vegetables, General Foods, Oils & Fats, Confectionery & Bakery, Drinks & Beverages and finally Tea & Coffee. 90% of the Meat seafood section has already been sold; companies from the USA, Norway, Denmark, Russia and Poland have secured their positions and World Food Moscow is pleased to receive a larger presence from Brazilian meat companies this year. This is no surprise as Russia is the largest world importer of meat and meat products, and consequently has always had strong representation at the event. The Russian market also offers great scope for drinks producers, currently the soft drinks market is valued at over US $2,393 million and over 5 million litres of alcoholic beverages are consumed annually. The Drinks and Tea and Coffee sections are therefore also proving to be a popular section of the event, with stands filled by organisations from countries including France, India and Turkey. "We are extremely pleased by the response to the sectioning of the show which has been welcomed by exhibitors. 60% of the entire exhibition has been sold within the first 2 months of selling, demonstrating the confidence in the Russian market and international recognition of the exhibition." Tony Higginson, Event Manager. The 2002 edition of World Food Moscow will also host over 500 sqm of German companies and a large participation in several areas of the show of Turkish companies who have so far booked over 50% more space than last year. Other countries that have reserved large stands include Belgium, Spain, Hungary and the USA. A full programme of seminars has been organised to run along side the World Food Moscow 2002 exhibition. This is a first for the event and will provide participators with the opportunity to present their products and technologies to the market, enhance their brand recognition and gain exposure to potential clients. |
