Tabacex Moscow 2000

2000 proved to be yet another successful year for Tabacex Moscow. The exhibition in it's second year, which took place at Expocentre in Moscow, exceeded all exhibitors and visitors expectations. "Yet another success in Moscow!" was the response from Roger Penn, Director of Mane Tobacco. This was one of many positive views expressed when exhibitors were asked how they felt about the exhibition.

The exhibition has thrived since it's showcase last year and is predicted to keep up this pattern for future years, ITE anticipates that 2001 will see the exhibition hit 2000 sqm.

General Facts and figures of the Exhibition:

  • 76 international exhibitors from 17 Countries: Germany, UK, France, Pakistan, Greece, Finland, China, USA, Armenia, Ukraine, Russia, Spain, Lithuania, Kirgizstan, Austria, Italy, India.
  • 1784 sqm of exhibition space, an increase of nearly 500 sqm on Tabacex Moscow 1999.
  • Supported by the Ministry of Agriculture & Food of the Russian Federation, City of Moscow and GrandTabac.
  • 2200 visitors, 89% of registered visitors were professional trade visitors.

    Exhibitor Profile:

  • The average stand size increased by 5 sqm from 1999.
  • Local Russian representation at the exhibition increased by 10% on last year, indicating that Tabacex Moscow is now recognised by the Russian tobacco industry as an important event in their calendar.
  • Two new countries were represented at the exhibition this year as the exhibition's international notoriety spread to India and Pakistan.
  • New companies this year included: Lawson Marden (UK), Hindustan Adhesives (India), Ismail Engineering (Pakistan), Globus Ltd (Russia), Metsa Serla Corporation(Finland).
  • Direct sales made on site and new sales expected by some exhibitors within 3-6 months.
  • Estimated new business contracts of up to US$100,000 reported by exhibitors at the exhibition.
  • 82% of Exhibitors reported that Tabacex Moscow met their expectations.

    Visitors at the exhibition proved to be of high calibre once again at this years Tabacex Moscow exhibition. 90% of visitors were professional trade visitors, and over 50% of these visitors consisted of Upper level management. Visitors had a wide variety of company activities within the Tobacco industry ranging from manufacturers and suppliers to adhesives and packaging. They also came from small local companies as well as larger national companies. Overall the exhibitors agreed that the attendance at the show was good and that as a result excellent business contacts had been made.
