Press Release - 19 APRIL 2000

LEADING INTERNATIONAL FOOD AND DRINK EVENT TO EXPAND INTO POLAND

InterFood and InterFoodTech, the leading international food and drink event in Russia and the CIS, is to be launched in Poland. The success of the Russian show, which is now in it's 6th year, led organisers ITE to consider launching the event in other relevant locations, hence the introduction of InterFood Poland and InterFoodTech Poland to its portfolio. InterFood Poland and InterFoodTech Poland will take place from 8 - 10 November 2000 in Sluzewiec, Warsaw.

The Polish food and drink market has witnessed rapid growth in recent years; InterFood and InterFoodTech aim to meet the demand for foreign investment in this expanding sector. Project Manager Alex Hogg comments; "Recent research shows that the Polish manufacturing sector remained the most popular in the first half of 1999 and over $4.5million was invested in food products. There is great potential in the Polish food processing and packaging sector for both foreign and local business ventures."

Over 150 exhibitors from 20 countries will attend this specialised trade event. Products on display will range from dairy, beer, meat, edible oils, vegetables and tea & coffee as well as food processing and packaging equipment, brewing equipment, bottling and labelling machinery, filling and closing technology and flexible packaging.

ITE are also pleased to welcome a National Group pavilion from Spain which will be represented by I.C.E.X., the Spanish Government Foreign Trade Body; 30 Spanish food producers have already confirmed their attendance at the event. Over 10,000 trade visitors are expected to attend the show.
