NEWS FROM THE EXHIBITION
INTERFOOD St Petersburg 2002
Interfood St Petersburg 2002 will be held at the Lenexpo Centre in St Petersburg,
Russia, from 15-18 April 2002. Launched in 1997 the show has gone from strength
to strength and has developed from a small scale show to the leading International
food and food technology event in North-West Russia. This years Interfood edition
will incorporate
Interfood Tech St Petersburg, the 5th International Exhibition
for Food & Drink Processing and
Foodpack St Petersburg, the 5th International
Exhibition for Food and Drink Packaging.
Special Exhibition Features.
Special events are planned for this year, which will add value to the exhibitors participation:
- Ingredients and Drinks section: Exhibitors of ingredients
and drinks products will be located in the Interfood halls as specialist sections.
This will provide a one-stop shop for visitors who are looking to source new
companies and suppliers.
- Professional International Tasting Competition: This
will be held under the banner "Drinks 2002" and will reward the best products
in the Drinks sector of the show.
- Presentations and round-table discussions: as part
of the "Russian Gurman" food tasting contest.
- Interfood Award: The Interfood competition, which takes
place annually, will recognise the most innovative food products at the exhibition.
- Seminars for producers and distributors: Individual
company seminars will be held throughout the duration of the exhibition.
- International Conference: A high level conference chaired
by industry experts will discuss new innovations in the food industry and
factors influencing the market.

Past Success
Interfood / Interfood Tech St Petersburg 2001
In 2001 the total show area occupied over 5,500 sqm of space, with over 320 companies exhibiting from 15 countries. Over 17,000 trade visitors attended the show from 200 different regions including North West Russia, Moscow and Central Russia, Siberia, Asia and Europe.
The 2001 edition was again co-located with Interfood Tech St Petersburg, Foodpack
St Petersburg and Pack St Petersburg. An
International Conference and dedicated
theme was held alongside InterfoodTech 2001 entitled "Myasomolprom" - which discussed
technology and equipment for the meat and dairy Industry. The exhibition forum
also included a seminar entitled "The role of food additives", sponsored by ingredients
producer Aromaros.
