Market Analysis

The Ukraine has experienced a period of extreme funding shortages but now looks forward to a time of faster growth.

A forecasted $1.4 billion is to be invested into the Ukrainian construction industry for 2000-2001.

A large proportion of this figure will be allocated to new apartments to replace much of the Ukrainian housing that dates from Soviet times. Those that are not replaced will need extensive refurbishment.

Construction industry prospects are enormous with building activity thriving. It is crucial that companies wishing to be a part of this tremendous expansion establish their credentials now. Hotels, basic housing, luxury dachas and new offices are all being built.

Current research particularly highlights the demand for decorative security windows, affordable high quality pipes and fittings, energy efficient heating, insulation and ventilation systems, insulated doors and windows, and flooring and wall tiles.

With the government reforming regulations to simplify and promote co-operation with international companies, coupled with over 4,000 existing Ukrainian enterprises already active in the construction sector, there has never been a better time for companies to tap into such great potential.
