Ukraine’s Spring Season Events in Full Swing
ITE’s Ukrainian business, Premier Expo, held its first events of 2014 this week, despite recent political tensions that have gripped the country and its capital, Kyiv.
The decision to proceed with KyivBuild, Intertool Kiev, BuildTech and KIPS on 4th to 6th March was taken after consulting with local staff, exhibitors, government officials and embassies. Although visitor numbers were lower than in previous years, the co-located events ran on schedule as planned.
Premier Expo Managing Director, Anatoly Sushon said. “We’ve had a challenging but successful start to our Spring season event programme. The conflict on the streets of Kyiv was restricted to the city centre and thankfully, the main transport infrastructure and the area surrounding the venue (IEC) and our office, was unaffected by the trouble.
“On the ground, everyone here has been calmly and professionally continuing with their work. People are very keen for a return to normality and we wanted to contribute by not cancelling or rescheduling our events. The safety of our staff and participants is our main priority and we acted upon the best available information to make sure that this wasn’t compromised.
“We’re keeping a close eye on developments in the country and we’ve implemented a communications plan so that people are informed of our plans until the situation here settles”.
Premier Expo’s event season continues with Estet Beauty Expo 12th to 14th March and UITT 26th to 28th March, both at the IEC in Kyiv.
