ITE continues regional development with new event in Sochi

The international exhibition organiser, ITE is well known for its Russian trade events hosted in Moscow, St. Petersburg and more recently, Novosibirsk. This year, the launch of IDES (Infrastructure Development Expo Sochi) marks an expansion of the group’s portfolio of events into Russia’s southern region of Krasnodar.

IDES is scheduled to take place on 1st to 3rd October in the fast-developing city of Sochi and is comprised of four specialist events: Electric & Power Infrastructure Sochi (EPIS); Engineering & Construction Infrastructure Sochi (ECIS); Ecology Infrastructure Sochi (ECOS); Sochi International Protection & Security (SIPS).

The event has captured the interest of a number of companies who are keen to develop their business in the region. These include Bosch, Siemens, 3M, General Electric, Tavrida Electric, Energostroyinvest Holding, Globalelectroservice, EKS Forma, Gazprommach and Obninsk Centre Naukograd.

Sochi will host the 2014 Winter Olympics and the IDES concept has the support of Russia’s Ministry of Regional Development who are responsible for supervising, financing and constructing the Olympic facilities. Russia’s Minister of Regional Development Victor Basargin said. “The development of a variety of infrastructure facilities is a key task in preparation for the Olympic Games. The IDES exhibition contributes towards solving issues associated with construction and covers the most critical fields of activities”.

Alexander Shtalenkov, General Director of ITE Moscow, said: “We have been working in the Russian market for more than 15 years and have a huge amount of experience in organising major specialised trade shows of international scale. In recent years, many of our major customers have expressed an interest in expanding their business into regions such as Krasnodar. IDES is hopefully the first of many events that we can organise in Sochi.”

Ends.
